January saw AYOM participate in and achieve its first ever accreditation for the Investors In People standard. After many months of culture change and structural changes, the company is proud to have achieved the global standard.

Are You Owed Money Ltd are officially ‘Investors In People’

This week AYOM received the news that we have passed our first ever ‘Investors In People’ assessment. The international standard looking at continuous improvement visited the offices early in January to assess the people and processes. After interviewing staff, observing day to day functions and looking into the company values, we are delighted to be certified as an accredited company.

“I would recommend working here to anybody”

As part of the process, staff were interviewed anonymously, providing constructive feedback. This gave the company the chance to plan future improvements as well as reflect on previous thoughts and performance. We are incredibly pleased with some of the quotes highlighted in our final report including:

“I would recommend working here to anybody”

“In my first three months, I was really supported and encouraged, and my confidence grew”

“We feel really proud we are hitting targets, it is enjoyable”

“I was attracted by the positivity and the friendly people here”

We could not be happier with the positive feedback provided. While the report has highlighted suggestions to improve, the general feedback ensures the cultural change the company has strived for over the past 18 months is paying off. Are You Owed Money Ltd is a good employer and wants to achieve excellence across the business.

Creative vision

The standard review focuses on achieving excellence in 9 key areas:

  1. Leading & inspiring people
  2. Living the organisation’s values & behaviours
  3. Empowering & involving people
  4. Managing performance
  5. Recognising & rewarding high performance
  6. Structuring work
  7. Building capability
  8. Delivering continuous improvement
  9. Creating sustainable success

Of these areas, AYOM met all criteria to be accredited, missing out on none. With each area, suggestions have been made which we will now implement to try and improve going forward. Speaking of the efforts to reach this stage and succeed, Managing Director Mr Logan commented:

“We didn’t set the business up to gain the accreditation, but the creative vision was always to build a culture where we would be able to meet the criteria listed. It has been a long road to this point. We have suffered failures and learning curves. But, the accreditation is a proud moment for myself and AYOM.”

“I couldn’t be prouder of each team involved in meeting these standards. We hope to continue our improvement and become not only a larger company in the area, employing more people, but empowering and up-skilling people at the same time. The base accreditation is the start of what we hope is a long relationship with Investors In People. It was a pleasure to welcome them to AYOM and hope they thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of us.”
