AYOM attended Preston Grasshoppers’ annual Hopfest for the second time, sponsoring long time British favourite, Courage best bitter.

AYOM returns to Hopfest for second year

Last week a small delegate of the AYOM team attended Preston Grasshoppers’ annual beer festival. Nicknamed “Hopfest”, the beer and music festival entertained guests for the 9th year running between Friday 5th and Sunday 7th July 2019. After our maiden year in 2018, AYOM again chose to sponsor a barrel and support the event.

Take courage

After enjoying a refreshing Hobgoblin beer last year, AYOM selected Courage Best Bitter. A pale bitter, balanced with a malty flavour, went down a treat with festival goers. Some readers may remember Courage adverts in the South of England during the 1980s. Featuring cockney favourites Chas & Dave singing Gertcha, Rabbit and Margate; the brewery has strong historic roots.
Comments from our delegates at the event included:
“It was quite an easy to drink bitter.”
“Not too sharp on the tongue.”
“Well worth trying”

Supporting local businesses

Of course as well as enjoying the festival, AYOM are enjoying the regularity of being part of the local business community. Hopfest hosts a Friday afternoon networking session before the doors open to the public. This provides a great opportunity to meet local business leaders and have a chat about possible partnerships over a spot of food and a drink.

With the networking handled by the well seasoned Shout Network we could be sure it would be a good atmosphere. Fellow sponsors ranged from local businesses like Noblett’s Fish & Chips to big industry hitters including the likes of Handelsbanken, HSBC and Bowker BMW. AYOM’s Managing Director who attended the festival spoke at length after the event, praising the success.

“Hopfest was a great first experience last year and with us looking to attend more local events, it is a great addition to the annual calendar. We are keen to meet business from in and around the central Lancashire area as we feel we’d like to have a strong presence in local debt collection. Many businesses struggle with credit control procedures or simply don’t have the time or manpower to chase non paying clients. This is where AYOM feels we can really help boost the Lancashire business economy. We’d like to thank everybody we spoke to on the day and welcome all those we didn’t get round to speaking to.”

For any delegates that didn’t manage to speak to our team but would like to know more about debt recovery, please get in touch. You can email enquiries@ayom.co.uk or call 0800 130 3357 to speak to one of our specialists.

In the meantime, we’d like to say a special thanks to Preston Grasshoppers for organising the event excellently as usual. We thank everybody who helped make it a success from bar staff and volunteers to the bands providing entertainment. We look forward to seeing you all next year where (hopefully) AYOM will be making a larger impression at what is a great festival.
