The BIBAs 2018, Friday 14th September. After a rousing performance from legendary singer Lulu and a fantastic Smooth FM after party, it draws to a close. In the aftermath, AYOM emerged by falling short at the final hurdle, but the experience has been very rewarding.
BIBAs 2018 – A lesson in success
We were blown away with the scale of the BIBAs 2018. The Blackpool tower ballroom was decorated perfectly and the dinner served exquisite. Aside from all the glitz and glamour though was tangible results. 17 categories saw the North West’s premier businesses rewarded for their efforts.
In the Employer of the year category, AYOM was up against established Lancashire businesses:
- Advocacy Focus
- FTS Merit
- Printed Cup Company
- Sunshine Events
- Suresite Group
In the end FTS Merit scooped the award but with the final came the conclusion of a rewarding process. AYOM has learned much about what it takes to compete at the top level at the BIBAs. The BIBAs employs main themes including results, culture and consistency among others. With 2018’s awards behind us, AYOM are looking forward to the challenge of the 2019 awards.
AYOM’s Managing Director Robert Logan was very happy with making it to the final.
We are so happy to get this far at the first attempt. We were shortlisted for 3 awards and made it to the final of 1 category. Having spoken to some here, businesses have taken 4/5 or more years to get here. We will be doing our best to improve to award winning standards by next year’s awards.
Still award winners?
While AYOM didn’t come home with a BIBA award, we are still proud of our efforts. We are also still an award winning firm. If you missed it, we recently won the Corporate Livewire Global award for debt recovery. We also won 2 awards from Wealth & Finance International in 2017 and 2018 respectively. To be recognised as we are at present, the management and staff are honoured to be included in so many prestigious events.
Our recognition doesn’t come lightly. We aim to provide the very best debt collection agency services. By doing so, with our core values of integrity, commitment and empathy, we have been able to stand alongside the UK’s best.

Hopefully, we can add a BIBA 2019 award to that repertoire. Until then, we are extremely proud to have achieved what we have to date.
