Are You Owed Money Ltd is proud to announce the firm’s nominated charity for this year. The Space Centre Preston will be the main beneficiary of AYOM’s charity activities over the coming 12 months.
Based a short walk away from AYOM’s office, The Space Centre is as local as it gets being less than 1 mile away. After listening to our staff, we visited the centre on Friday. Our team wanted to get a feel for the centre and see the great work they do. We were not disappointed.
The Space Centre boasts a number of wonderful areas to offer a relaxing, fun, engaging environment. The centre benefits many people suffering with numerous issues. These include Cerebral Palsy, Profound Multiple Disabilities, Autism and brain injuries. Facilities at the centre include:
- 3 Sensory rooms (Space 1, 2 & 3)
- Sir Tom Finney garden
- Self serve cafe
- Changing rooms
- Soft play rooms
The staff are very motivated and were more than welcoming to our group. After seeing the excellent work first hand, we discussed a partnership with centre representatives. Following a quick chat, we were very happy to be working with The Space Centre for the forthcoming year.
Are You Owed Money hope to work with The Space Centre at many upcoming events. Over the course of the year some events already scheduled include the anniversary ball and golf day. We are also in the early planning stages of our own team based fundraising event. More details of which will be released as they are available.
The perfect choice
Following tragic and turbulent recent events surrounding the centre, the centre has been able to rebuild and once again thrive. Despite the former £500,000 debts brought about by a fraudster, they have recovered strongly.
With heart, grit and supporting businesses, the centre now once again focuses on what it is best at. They can deliver amazing sensory experiences to those who need it. It is because of this Are You Owed Money selected space.
Are You Owed Money’s Business Manager Marie Mitchell was impressed with the sensory rooms after experiencing a working Space 1 during the visit. She said “it is the perfect choice as our chosen charity. It is right next door and it provides an excellent service to its users. We are very lucky to have such a great place here in Preston”.
Marketing Manager Dan Fletcher agreed, impressed with the details of the sensory rooms.
The rooms had so many features; slides, projectors, ball pits and bubble machines. I can clearly see how fun this is for those that use the facility. It’s very exciting to be able to partner with the centre this year.
